The opposition to this church relocation project is probably more so directed toward the downcast people that the outreach ministry helps. Christian ministry offers a great package: compassion, forgiveness, encouragement and hope. In this particular instance it looks like the East Tacoma Neighborhood wants to block any potential crimes by ex-cons that this church might minister. The real estate transaction and subsequent property improvements looks to me like yet another example of this church demonstrating a disciplined effort for the glory of God. If their efforts help advance the Christian faith then that's an added gain for the world. From what I’ve read, including the church website, this fellowship is a productive member of the community.
