More pushback on Sount Transit’s survey

According to an article on Crosscut.com (Sound Transit is accused of push-polling - h/t Orbusmax) other people were as displeased with Sound Transit’s recent survey as I wasHere’s more in the PI.

I thought it was funny that some of the comments on Crosscut.com’s blog questioned the qualifications of the responders to the survey. I guess they think that just because someone has to pay for something doesn’t mean they’re qualified to decide what the money should be spent on. But at least there was a little honesty:

It’s a totally non-scientific push poll. That said, I do agree with most of what they are ‘pushing’ as an alternative, with one exception.” [emphasis added]

That particular blog entry brought out a good interpretation of Sound Transit’s attitude:

Here’s my straight-talking, Midwestern translation: You voters killed our last, best hope for a solution…

Well said. That’s a typical bureaucratic response to voters who refuse to fork over more of their hard-earned money so delusional bureaucrats can continue to build their self-important bureaucrazies. I still remember when I-695 sent the legislature into a tizzy-fit. They responded to voters by cutting deep into funding for emergency services but fully funded pet mass transportation projects. I’m not sure if it was revenge or an attempt at punishing voters for disagreeing with them. And they wonder why voters say ‘no’.
